Successful clean room opening

About 100 guests joined in celebrating the official opening of the clean room facilities at Alsion on December 18. While they were arriving, a string quartet marked the beginning of the day with a beautiful intermezzo as a prelude to the event, with 'keynotes' from SDU's vice chancellor Jens Oddershede, Danfoss' CEO Jørgen Mads Clausen, the dean of the Technical Faculty, Per Michael Johansen, Sønderborg's mayor Jan Prokopek Jensen, as well as enthralling lectures about nano- and microtechnology.

After lunch, guests could take a guided tour through the clean room and the laboratories, or look at the many posters, which were brought along, and the nano exhibition, which shows a variety of products from everyday life equipped with nanotechnology. The latter is permanently open to visitors.

The event continued with a minisymposium, and was finalised with a Christmas Concert by South Jutland Symphony Orchestra.

Both Jyske Vestkysten and Der Nordschleswiger came to cover the opening.
